The Porthole is a simple infusion vessel that can be used for oils, teas, or custom cocktail mixers. Both utilitarian and beautiful, it was originally conceptualized as a way to visualize the transformation of a steeping liquid for the Chicago-based cocktail bar The Aviary. Since then, it’s been extremely popular — even surfacing on the cover of a few food magazines — but it’s not yet been able to surface on the average restaurant-goers kitchen table. Until now! Backers can pledge for the device, along with a seasonal cocktail recipe to get started with. We’ll get started by making them our Project of the Day.
