Tim Brookes is a writer and woodcarver with a passion for the world’s threatened languages. He recently launched the second iteration of his Endangered Alphabets project, which seeks to fund the first books ever published in some of the indigenous languages of Bangladesh. Today, Tim shared a few of the rewards for the backers of his current project, including this hand-carved om written in Balinese — “arguably the most beautiful script in the world.” We’d be hard-pressed to disagree.
