    Kickstarter Is Hiring

Nearly a year old and growing fast, Kickstarter’s been featured in Wired, the New York Times’ Year in Ideas, and listed at #1 on Silicon Alley Insider’s Hot NYC Startups to Watch. We’re determined to change the way that ideas are funded and looking for others like us.

We’re currently looking for a great Rails developer and a community/marketing hero. See below for full descriptions and info on how to get in touch. Thanks, and look forward to hearing from you!

    Rails Developer

We’re looking for a NYC-based Rails developer with a history of tackling interesting problems and building fun things; someone who seeks elegant solutions to difficult problems, while still pragmatic enough to get things done. We love generalists with experience in every part of the stack and an innate technical curiosity.

You’ll be working on every part of Kickstarter’s back-end, from infoviz and geolocation to APIs and authentication, alongside our small team of passionate geeks. A sense of humor, sense of play, and an open mind are mandatory. And it helps to be well-rounded; it’s no coincidence that everyone on our team has a background in the arts, as well as tech.

Candidates should have a strong background in optimizing and scaling Rails applications, solid understanding of jQuery or equivalent frameworks, and comfort with cloud computing and the Amazon stack. Experience with payment systems would be especially handy.

This position is full-time, on-site at our awesome NYC office in the Lower East Side.

    Interested?

Send a little something about yourself to devjobs@kickstarter.com, along with links to your personal homepage, resume, and some of the interesting projects you’ve worked on or contributed to. (Extra credit for a link to your Github profile.)

    Community/Marketing Hero

We’re looking for someone that can spread the word, generate great ideas, and write passionately about creative projects. We want someone who understands the creative space and knows how to talk to people within it. You write great emails and probably have creative projects of your own.

Your job will be part community, part marketing. You’ll be helping existing creators with their projects and uncovering new ones too. You’re good at coming up with great ideas and even better at executing them. A sense of humor, sense of play, and an open mind are mandatory.

This position is full-time and on-site at our awesome NYC office in the Lower East Side.
