The first Kickstarter I ever donated to is finally coming together.
ICYMI, the RoboCop statue is near completion and looks incredible!
Loving all the .gifs tucked into the Dog Sled Saga project!
A few weeks back, I launched a Kickstarter project for my pop-up children’s book, Jervis the Best. The experience has been so amazing that I’m strongly reconsidering retitling the book “Kickstarter the Best.” As a compromise, I made this pop-up card. :)
Welp, this is awesome. Thanks Jennifer!
Testing out a Videre pinhole gif with Lucy.
Highly recommend checking out Kelly Angood’s project tumblr, where she’s been showing off all the wonderful things the Videre can do.
In case you didn’t know, Zach Braff is making a new movie and it’s called Wish I Was Here.
Harald Geisler animated his project page for the Sigmund Freud Typeface.
A few months ago Kurt Braunholer launched a project to “write stupid stuff in the sky.” On Saturday, the city of Los Angeles was able to watch this project come to life, as a plane flew over the city of Angels writing “How do I land?” in the sky.
Today in Kickstarter, Wednesday March 21st 2013:
- 20 Years of Madness posted an amazing .Gif only update (above)
- Oscar-winning animator Daniel Greaves is working on a new film
- Peep some of the swag we’ll be doling out at PAX East this weekend
- Creator Tom Morin hit the Today Show to chat about his project
Crossover move.
Co-director of Doin’ It in the Park (and legendary hip-hop DJ) Bobbito Garcia schools a kid on the court. The doc explores the history and cultural impact of New York City’s street basketball scene.
Plympton’s favorite flicks.
Legendary animator Bill Plympton is currently hard at work on Cheatin’, his seventh feature-length animated film, which just so happens to be composed of 40,000 hand-drawn frames.
When toiling away on all those drawings, Bill needs to stay inspired, so we asked him to suggest some of his favorite animated films. Here’s his list:
Bill Plympton’s top 5 animated films (in no particular order):
Beautiful weather.
Dark Sky is a beautifully designed app that predicts the weather. It’s just one of many memorable projects from the Best of Kickstarter 2012.
Bear hugs just got real.
The Griz Coat makes the Best of Kickstarter 2012. Aaron’s sweet moves just might be the best reason of all to take a look.
Come for the dancing bear, stay for the civilian space suit, Kickstarter-funded opera, open source geiger counter, in-game marriage proposal and much more…
It’s the Best of Kickstarter 2012.
Nap time.
The Ostrich Pillow is made for Fridays.
This afternoon seems like a perfect opportunity to do a little #ostriching — and it’s an even better time to put away that spreadsheet and check out the Best of Kickstarter 2012.
