1. Ann and Joe Burkart have accumulated thousands of glass negatives of photos from 1880s to the 1930s, showing eerily beautiful snapshots of train wrecks, sports, hat shops and general life from the turn of the century. The photographers behind these images aren’t famous, but they played an important role in capturing the early development of our country. 

    Now, this Kickstarter project seeks to repair and restore these negatives before the memories they capture are destroyed, fade away and disappear into the mist.
