1. 'Tis the season

Michael Smith has spent six years working on an arrangement of The Nutcracker for solo marimba and wrangling access to an instrument large enough to realize his vision.
With a little support from his backers, Smith will craft the ultimate holiday gift by this time next year. Season’s greetings to everyone — it’s our Project of the Day.

  2. Ho ho ho.
No time like the present to start ruining Christmas. The team of rapscallions behind Cards Against Humanity are releasing a new set of holiday-themed cards, perfect for making any family gathering infinitely more uncomfortable.
Don’t know what we’re talking about? You’ve been warned…
maxistentialist:

Cards Against Humanity is back in stock, and we’re releasing a limited-edition holiday pack with 30 brand new cards. We think they’re worth $5, but you can pay whatever you want, including $0 if you want to ruin Christmas.
Cards Against Humanity ($25)
The First Expansion ($10)
The Second Expansion ($10)
I’m really proud of this project, we’ve been working on it for months! Check out the video, it’s really dumb.

  3. Holidays are a time of celebration, tradition, family rituals, and — if you’re anything like us — massive, ill-fitting, ugly sweaters that so-and-so’s Aunt’s cousin’s wife’s brother-in-law once got for us, and that we have to wear every single time they even might be around so that we’re certain not to offend them, and the peace can be kept at dinner all the way through the last slice of homemade pumpkin pie. Deep breath. Right? Wrong! Geltfiend Chanukah Sweaters are gearing up to take back the holidays, one amazing sweater pattern at a time. Their designs, if the trading card-worthy looks above are any indication, look super unique, super cozy, and like a super perfect fit. Is it weird that we’re suddenly kinda looking forward to the fall?
